The community at Block 4 in Zone 9 in Thembalethu decided that the garbage has become a safety and health concern and said enough is enough. They are tackling the litter problem in there area head-on.

Before clean-up

After clean-up

Today I witnessed a community coming together and clean up an area next to a local creche that has become a dumping area for all sorts of waste. Under the leadership of Apostle Jackson Moyekwa and the assistance of Councillor Faith Mdaka about 60 men and women started cleaning the area.

The group from Thembalethu is challenging other areas to start cleaning up their areas.
